Get ready to roll up your sleeves for a hands-on experience. Our small class sizes ensure that you get plenty of personal attention from your chef instructor, who will walk you through each step of the recipe and demonstrate specific techniques. Our classes are hands on and appropriate for all skillsets, we are also offering advanced cooking and baking series of classes for anyone who wants to up their cooking game. Cooking Classes in our “ Cookshop” take place at 45 East Main Street, Babylon.
Cost is per 1 person, unless class states otherwise ( 'Kids & Adult Class tickets are for 2)
Classes are approximately 2.5
Kids (10-15) classes run 1.5hrs, guardians are welcome to wait or drop off
Kids (5-9) are approx. 1hr and require at least one guardian to stay the duration of class
Our classes are capped at 12 students usually working in groups of 2 – 4 , Individuals will be paired with a partner. If you prefer to work solo please notify us in the space provided during booking - or call our store at 631-818-1100

We will provide you with an apron, but we recommend wearing casual clothes that you don’t mind getting a little bit messy in. We ask that you wear flat comfortable shoes. Please do not wear open-toed shoes or sandals. Please pull long hair back.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of the class. Once the class has begun, we cannot accommodate late arrivals.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that sometimes class cancellations are necessary, and this policy describes what happens in the event of a cancellation.
Please provide us with as much notice as possible if you feel you are unable to make the class. We staff and purchase according to the number of guests scheduled for the class. Providing notice also allows us time to rebook your space.
- For cancellations made up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time of a class, Babylon Mercantile will provide you with credit towards a future class
- For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start of a class, we are not able to offer any refunds or in-store credit.
- Cancellations or changes can be made (1) in-person in at the location of the culinary class or by calling 631-818-1100 and speaking directly to a Babylon Mercantile representative. We cannot accept or honor cancellations made by email or left on voicemail.
- No Shows are considered a cancellation and not eligible for refund or rebooking
- When we cancel a class due to inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond our control (e.g., power outages, facility issues, etc.), we will endeavor to contact you by email or telephone with as much notice as possible and issue a full refund to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Babylon Mercantile gift card). However, if we do not affirmatively cancel a class by email or telephone and you are unable to attend, our standard cancellation policy applies.

The intent of our classes is to teach, the results of a dish or pastry may differ class to class and by student. In some classes, specifically pastry & baking weather may affect the outcome of the recipe.
Classes with less than 4 students may be cancelled.
Online Cooking Class Wavier and Media Release I understand that by turning on my electronic device’s camera during an Online Cooking Class, it will broadcast to the Chef and class participants. I consent to and allow any reproduction of any and all photographs or video recordings taken of myself or a member of my household during our participation in the Online Cooking Class. I agree to Babylon Mercantile’s right to use or reproduce such photographs and video recordings in any media, including social media or online.
By purchasing this class, you agree to Babylon Mercantile cooking class terms and conditions, including cancellation policies.

In consideration of being permitted by The Babylon Mercantile, LLC to participate in a cooking class, I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages or personal injury, death, or property damage which I may have or which may hereafter accrue as a result of my participation in said activity. This release is intended to discharge, in advance, The Babylon Mercantile, LLC, its officers, directors, members and managers and all other members of its cooking school staff whether contracted or employed, from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected to in any way with any participation in said activity. I agree and understand that my participation is voluntary and I assume risks associated with the activity in which I will be participating. lf alcoholic beverages are consumed during an event, I understand that this may increase my risk of injury and agree not to operate a motor vehicle if I may be over the legal limit.
I hereby grant The Babylon Mercantile, LLC all rights and consent to copyright, use, re-use, publish or re-publish, copy, exhibit or distribute all photographs and/or video of myself to be used for The Babylon Mercantile’s website, social media and any educational, training or promotional electronic or printed material without restriction as to frequency or duration of usage and without compensation. FOOD ALLERGIES AND SENSITIVITIES: Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking. Due to the nature of some classes, we are unable to accommodate all dietary restrictions/preferences. Reactions due to food allergies and sensitivities are included as risks associated with culinary classes. By Purchasing this class I acknowledge that I have carefully read this Hold Harmless Agreement, Waiver and Release and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between myself and The Babylon Mercantile, LLC and any staff member of cooking class whether contracted or employed.

The Details:
Our kitchen is designed specifically to be a learning environment. You’ll have a workstation equipped with all the tools and ingredients you’ll need for each recipe, and you’ll have time to enjoy everything you make. We will also provide you with recipes and “at home” instructions for all the menu items.
